Our Strategic Plan

Every three to five years, CMCP engages in a broad consultation process to develop a strategic plan that guides our activities.

Arts and CraftsThis involves key interviews with our funders, leaders in the early learning sector and community partners; surveys and focus groups with our participants; and consultations with our Board of Directors and staff.

Our strategic planning priorities for 2018–2021 are to:

1. Prioritize serving vulnerable communities.

Without compromising CMCP’s commitments as a universal program open to all families, it is particularly important that vulnerable families are being reached, and that special needs are being addressed. “Vulnerable” here is defined broadly to include low-income families, non-English speakers, recent immigrants, families with physical or mental health challenges, LGBTQ families, etc.

2. Elevate our fundraising target.

Develop and implement a plan for a more structured and diversified approach to fundraising, led by the Development Committee

3. Build a succession plan.

Develop a plan to address anticipated transition(s) in the executive and board ranks.
